Poorly maintained. Now owned by an apartment developer so I’d say they are retaining it for land value, doing as little as possible with it and waiting for it to be worth putting huge apartments here.

Love the polish being put on the place. Even the car park.

I've been considering whether I should make a review about this or not, but I've decided it bothered me enough that I absolutely want to make a public complaint about it. Last week, while visiting the ice arena for a public skate session, my hockey stick went missing. I left it on a bench with my bag, right beside the small ice where I was skating, and when I returned to the bench it was gone. Now, there was an ice factor tournament on this day, which I did not know before arriving as it is not posted anywhere on the ice arena's website. If I had known this I likely wouldn't have brought my stick. But, knowing this, I assumed someone from a school likely picked it up thinking it belonged to a student. I fully understand this, and also admit that I shouldn't have left it where it could be mistaken for part of a school's kit, that's on me. (Though being told by a staff member that I "shouldn't have left it where it could be taken," when there was no where else to leave it, was quite frustrating in the moment) The frustrating part, though, was asking for the security camera's to be checked, so I could find out which school picked it up, and being told that the bench I was on is not in view of any cameras. It is. I saw this on the screen as I left, and I have attached a photo below to show that it is very much in view. After discovering this, we called back that night to ask again about having the cameras checked. We were told yes on the phone, but have now discovered that the call went to a call centre rather than the actual ice arena, and going in the next day the cameras still hadn't been checked. I ran into Jeff, the senior duty manager and director of ice hockey, on my way out, and explained the situation to him, including the information that no one was willing to check the cameras for me. Thankfully, Jeff was able to check the cameras for me, and security footage did show a staff member moving my stick from the bench to a pile of students' sticks, as well as my stick being packed up and taken with theirs. (Thank you for your help in the situation, Jeff!) Jeff told me he'd reach out to Sami, the ice factor organiser, and find out which school the staff member was with so we could contact them and get the stick back. This is where I am lacking some information. What I imagine to have happened, though, is Jeff reached out to Sami, got the details, and one of them relayed this information back to the staff at the ice arena for them to contact me. However, days later, I had heard nothing. With school break right around the corner I decided to contact Sami myself, hoping he may be able to give me the information to contact the school myself. I was more than happy to go pick up the stick, I just needed to know which school it was with so I could arrange it with them. Well, upon contacting Sami, I came to find out that my stick had been returned to the rink the day prior. No one contacted me with this information, despite having my details and every staff member very much so knowing it was missing. This, along with the initial refusal to check cameras, is the most frustrating part of this situation. I take responsibility for leaving it where it was easily mistaken for school equipment, and I do not blame the school for the mix up at all, but the lack of assistance from staff at the ice arena was quite frustrating and very disappointing. I thankfully have my stick back now, but this has definitely turned me away from the ice arena. If I did not already have a members pass I certainly would not be looking to purchase one after this. Not to mention the poor ice quality, limited open hours and lack of advertising for closures and interruptions, and the overall poor quality of the rink. Only compliment is to the wonderful people who run the shop upstairs, who have been very helpful as I start my skating/hockey journey, and to Jeff for his assistance in this situation and the advice he has offered me in my still early skating days.
