Ichika is a rare find as the only true Japanese Kaiseki experience in the Dallas area. The intimacy of the space, allows for a front-row seat to the artistry of the chefs, who prepare every dish directly in front of you. It was fascinating to hear the story behind each course, from the thoughtful sourcing of ingredients to the precise techniques used. The care put into each dish was evident and the result was an incredibly delicious dining experience. Every bite was perfection. I am still dreaming about it days later. Truly high-end and exclusive; a must for anyone seeking an authentic, elevated culinary journey. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I really liked Ichika! I thought the presentation of the food was beautiful, and really demonstrated an element of care and precision. I'm not normally a big fan of sashimi, but the way it was prepared made it delicious and really enjoyable for me. I loved the variety of Japanese cusine as well, how it spanned from a more traditional Kaiseki menu into wagyu and tempura and nigiri, all of which I felt were prepared with great skill and were really tasty! And the mochi dessert at the end - between the texture of the mochi, and the richness of the syrup, and the nuttiness of the roasted flour (Kinako?) - the synergy of the ingredients combined into something outstanding and it might have been the best dessert I've ever had, it was sooo good! Chef Leo is very personable and friendly and unpretentious, and I feel like that personality really comes through in the dishes that are served. It was wonderful to watch the chefs exercise their technique and focus during the cooking process, and the service was great as well - not invasive but thoughtful and attentive and discrete. It was also fun that we got to pick from a choice of glassware to use for sake. It's clear to me from the other positive reviews that the quality of food and mastery of technique and flavor is consistent night-after-night. The flavors felt well controlled and intentional - subtle and balanced and nuanced where needed, and then bold and full elsewhere where it fit - and it all worked! Overall, an amazing dining experience. I can't wait to make a return trip the next time I'm in Texas! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
