When I picture a classic, Japanese Niku shop, Ikudon comes to mind. From the outside, Ikudon looks like a house straight out of the Edo era, with its decorative metal roof. There are a few chairs outside and a smoking pit, and menus showing off the latest deals. You pass through the doors and see the charcoal grills, smell of cooking meat in the air, large beers, and workers yelling. Been to more of a handful of yakiniku places and this place is top 3 in Machida. There's a large variety of meats available at fair prices, and the service and friendliness is high tier. If you're a foreigner, you might be using google translate for some of the menu items, but the menus aren't handwritten, so it's not a problem. Definitely recommend this place. I will be back again.
