After a long walk around Uguccioni Palace, come to this restaurant and have a rest here. The wonderful flavours of Italian and Mediterranean cuisines attract a lot of customers. It's worth coming to Il Cavallino for tasty monkfish, fillet steaks and pizza salads. Most people point out that you can have nicely cooked che, gelato and panna cotta here. It might be nice to enjoy delicious cordial, limoncello or house wine. Drink the good ice tea, espresso or latte served here.
The warm atmosphere of this place makes visitors feel relaxed and have a good time. Most guests indicate that the staff is cheerful. A number of reviewers note that the service is spectacular. From the guests' viewpoint, prices are reasonable. The reviews of this spot mention the terrific decor as a big plus. But many clients who use Google didn't give this restaurant a high rating.

Food was below par and very overpriced. Service and staff was kind of OK, but seemed bored and not very enthusiastic. The location was superb, however, I strongly recommend somewhere else if you want quality dining. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

I ordered t-bone steak and specifically asked for 3/4 ( between medium well and well done) but i got medium rare and i find the baked potatoes salty too

Convenient It was late and we just arrived in Florence on our holiday through Italy from the US. We got checked into our hotel and headed out for some food. We passed several places before deciding on Il Cavallino, both interested in seeing all the new sights and also tired of travelling and of trying to pick a restaurant. Initially I could not find Il Cavallino on Yelp, otherwise we would have given them a pass. The prices on their displayed menu were reasonable so we stopped in. It was a cool evening but they had heaters, so we sat outside. They location is such where you could do a lot of people watching if it wasn't so late. My wife was able to order Minestrone soup, thankful to finally find a brothy soup. While bland, she desired it so much she finished the bowl. For my entree I had their Rigatoni with Meat Sauce. It was oily, tasted good, and was welcomed after our trip. In looking over the other reviews, much of the negative had to do with service. Our service was fine, we did not encounter or see any rudeness, there was no issue when we asked to change tables to move away from one of their heaters. The only negative I had, which is a big one, was when we went to pay. We were told by our server gratuity was not included, and I'm looking at the bill with a 15% charge. Taxes he told us, and even though I was not convinced, I tossed him another 5 euros. So far in our travels this time we have only found indifference by servers regarding gratuity. He made 5 euros which I would not have otherwise left, so good for him. Cost his restaurant one star. We will be in Florence for a few days and will learn if there is a 15% tax added to our bills.
