Sometimes you go to a food place - we’re in Rome so, say, pasta - and you ask yourself afterwards if they really know what pasta tastes like. Well, you go to Il Fornaio, and afterwards you wonder if they know what food tastes like. What the heck. That kind of pricing on that kind of quality, there’s only one word for that. Egregious. Almost as egregious as the stuff on top of their flatbreads sliding off. I’ve been less upset about food I’ve paid for that gave me food poisoning, and I wish that was a joke. Someday I’ll do someone wrong as bad as Il Fornaio did me wrong, and I’ll question who I am as a human being.
