Im Eimer is a charming German-style restaurant located in Cape Town. The decor is rustic and quaint, with interesting ornaments and a cozy fireplace. The menu offers a variety of German and South African dishes, including their specialty Eisbein. The portions are generous and the prices are extremely reasonable. The service is friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting.
The food is delicious and authentic, with customers raving about the Eisbein, Schnitzel, Venison Goulash with Spätzle, and Apfelstrudel. It is essential to pre-order the Eisbein due to the lengthy cooking time, but it is well worth the wait. The Erdinger Weiss beer on tap is a great accompaniment.
The only downside to Im Eimer is that the kitchen may not be as clean as one would hope. Despite this, Im Eimer is definitely worth a visit for a unique and authentic dining experience.
Best local restaurant for the whole family. Food is great especially the schnitzels and eisbein! If you want authentic German cuisine with a dash of South africa & Namibia im eimer is tops. My German family enjoyed it very much! I enjoy coming here for the weißbier and live sport. My son love the playground and milkshakes. Danke schön! We came to the Im Eimer upon recommendation and are happy that we did. We went on a Sunday afternoon for the live music. Liesl looked after us and she did a fantastic job! We even got a tour of the whole place;-) The haxe (oven baked Eisbein) was amazing. Best we've ever had, and that is saying something seeing as we come from Germany. The band, NiteShift, played great music and we had a very enjoyable afternoon. We will return Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
