Inariya is a Japanese restaurant located on Chugushi in the city of Nikko. Specializing in traditional Japanese cuisine, the restaurant is known for serving soba and udon dishes, with lunch being the primary meal offered. The restaurant operates from 11:00 to 16:00 on weekdays and slightly extended hours on weekends, opening at 10:30.
Visitor reviews suggest that Inariya's menu features typical local favorites such as tempura soba and set meals, which have been noted for their flavor. However, some diners felt that the cold soba dish portion sizes could be more generous considering the pricing.
Despite mentioning a focus on authentic soba, reviews pointed out that it might not be hand-cut. The restaurant's frequent bustle during the lunch hour implies its popularity, yet it's important to note that there haven't been any recent reviews or updates directly from the restaurant in the past five years. This lack of updated feedback could suggest changes over time that potential visitors might want to explore for themselves.

Traditional yuba restaurant in Nikkō, set in a very quiet, old-style building full of charm. The experience felt both culinary and deeply human, in a place that seems frozen in time and is run by an elderly couple working alone. During our visit, we were the only guests, and several items on the menu were no longer available. The food is simple, honest, and authentic, with homemade local yuba specialties. What stood out most was the hospitality: an elderly Japanese woman managing everything on her own (service, cashier, hosting), with great kindness. She understands a bit of French, which made the interaction especially touching. Our daughter was very moved by the experience and insisted on leaving a tip, which was politely but firmly refused. A place worth visiting for authentic foid, but even more so for the human experience and unique atmosphere. Price per person: ¥2,000–3,000 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
