Just ordered for pickup and as soon as I opened the door, the smell of fish was overwhelming. There was furniture stacked up everywhere and it looked like a storage facility. The pork dumplings were ok but sushi was fishy and I could not eat it- had to throw it all out! What a waste! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1

The sushi at Inase is absolutely delicious - we had some salmon belly nigiri, chutoro nigiri, and amber jack nigiri which were all phenomenal. The fish is such great quality and have a melt-in-your-mouth feel. They also use some special ingredients that make the sushi more unique, but the flavors all blend together so well. We also had some of the best soft shell crab - lightly crispy but still juicy and tender. Finally, the owners are so friendly and warm - we were the only ones dining at the sushi bar and had such a great time talking with them. It was really the highlight of our day in NYC. The owners Jun and Shoko are some of the lovliest people you could ever hope to meet. The restaurant is authentic Japanese cuisine. And the attention to detail and care is consistently high because Jun is the restaurant's sole chef. As long as I live in the ues, I'll never get sushi anywhere else.
