I think it’s the best Harry Potter experience in Rome, but it could have been so much better. Don’t get me wrong—the surroundings were perfect and really transported you back to Hogwarts. However, our waiter was extremely rude. We were told, after buying two Butterbeers (€16), that this was not a pub but a fine-dining restaurant (it really isn’t). Apparently, we should have bought much more if we wanted to take pictures and look around. The “fine-dining restaurant” wasn’t even close to being full. The first floor, where we were seated, felt more like a kindergarten than anything else, with screaming children running around everywhere. The rest of the staff seemed very nice. It was just our bad luck to run into this one. It also takes about an hour by public transport to get to the restaurant from the city centre, so keep that in mind. Overall, a mediocre experience. I hope the staff—and the restaurant—will show more respect for dedicated fans and not rip them off in the future. One more thing. The free “gift” that you are promised is just this very little plastic coin with the sticker of a galion on it (see last picture). Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2 Price per person: €20–30

I visited Incantum, a Harry Potter-themed restaurant about 30 minutes outside central Rome, during my latest travels. While it’s a bit off the beaten path, the experience is well worth the trip—especially if you appreciate immersive settings and a touch of magic. From the moment you enter, enchanting sound effects and welcoming staff (primarily Italian-speaking, but always friendly) create a truly memorable first impression. The atmosphere is delightfully whimsical—paintings and decor really transport you to a Hogwarts-like setting, where you half-expect a wizard to appear at any moment. The food exceeded expectations for a themed restaurant, with each dish (from starters to dessert) both tasty and creatively presented. An interactive app added a fun element, letting guests explore and engage with the space in new ways. There is a noticeable difference between families with children, who enjoy the playful side of the venue, and adults who are drawn in by the immersive, detailed decor. Personally, I’d love to see adult-only experiences on select evenings—similar to the magical Christmas dinners at the Warner Bros. Studios in London. The level of immersion is impressive: it’s not just the menu—every corner of the reception and dining area is decked out with banners, paintings, and magical accents. Pricing felt very reasonable given the creativity, quality, and effort put into the whole experience. Overall, I had a fantastic experience. Thinking back still brings a smile to my face, and I would definitely return. For Harry Potter fans or anyone looking for a unique dining adventure near Rome, Incantum is a wonderful choice.
