I wrote the following Yelp review a year ago and decided it was time to reaffirm my love for this restaurant. It’s seriously one of my favorite DC spots because the food is so great and the vibe is so welcoming, and since writing this a year ago nothing has disappointed! + + + + + + + I'm really surprised that the average for Indigo isn't 5 stars. I've been going to this place consistently since I moved to DC about three years ago and have never had a single disappointment. Part of me wants to describe it as a no-frills type place because you get your own water, utensils, and sauces, but the other part of me loves the character of the heated patio, the eccentric posters and wall art, and some great drink options. There's a certain vibe that really cannot be replicated and it feels familiar. The food is wonderful. I go back and get the same meal every time (spicy saag with chicken) and it is so delicious. The only time I was ever disappointed was when I tried to make this at home and it tasted nothing like it, so I literally had to go to Indigo to get my fix. l've also tried all of the appetizers and sides, and they're all great. Everything just makes sense together, so no need to try to "pair" and make it complicated. From what I've tried from my friends' dishes, the other entrees are just as flavorful (but still love my saag meal). So warm, so flavorful, so filling. I have never recommended a restaurant more than this one. Every time I hear someone is new in town, I tell them about this place and offer to go with them. All my friends do the same thing (which is how got hooked!) and it's a frequented spot of ours. I’ve been in these restaurants many times and enjoy it a lot. I still thinking the food is good. But is true that misleading the costumers with a 15 % service charge (that is not optional) doesn’t matter if is a take out is not right. They said is not to increase the price. I feel these increase the price. The easiest way for you to really know the price of any meal is every 20 dollars put 5 extra = 25 and tells you the real price of a meal. When you think that everything it would be 25 % (service charge + taxes) plus that what you see in the menu you can make a better decision if you want to eat there. I ended paying 26 dollars for one dish take away and no drink and they didn’t put the cutlery It seems the service charge doesn’t include these service. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
