To be honest, I expected more from Inshotei but the food was not worth the price we paid. Because the course was simple not “Wow”. Yes it is very detailed and artistic but I felt full after eating the rice before dessert. The course food overall was not very tasty but I only enjoyed the fried eel with a green vegetable. The service is great tho, the woman who served us was very good at English and offered to cut our birthday cake and took our family photo. We also saw a rat running across the window which startled everyone. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥10,000+ Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

TL;DR: An authentic, beautifully traditional Japanese dining experience with top tier hospitality. Worth trying at least once. The Ambience & Service The hospitality here is world class. We were shown to an expansive, traditional room that felt exclusive, there were only three tables, meaning just a few groups per room. Note that it is authentic floor seating (no Western chairs), and since we visited during the summer, the room did get a tad warm. The Food () We opted for the seasonal Botan Kaiseki set. Every dish was delicious and beautifully prepared. While the portions initially look small, the meal is surprisingly filling; by the end, we couldn't even touch the final rice course. The staff packed it up for us to enjoy as a late-night snack. The Verdict The only downside was the pacing, as the wait times between courses can be a bit too long. While it’s likely a one-time experience for us rather than a regular spot, it is absolutely something everyone should experience at least once. We had a Kikyou dinner course, 15000 Yen per person. I didn't have any special taste during 8 course meals. I would recommend you to try cheaper options first if you would. Price per person: ¥10,000+ Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
