So yummy! Intero is my favorite Italian restaurant in Austin. The ingredients were so fresh, and our server was super kind and knowledgeable about the menu. I love a rotating menu with seasonal flavors! My favorites were the bolognese and rigatoni (so smoky, and the chicken was delichhhh ). The redfish was cooked beautifully and tasted so fresh, and it paired perfectly with the Sauvignon Blanc. Definitely recommend!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $60–70

Let’s start with the positives: the ambience and the staff were definitely on par with what I would expect with a trendy high-end restaurant. As an example, when my husband‘s risotto took a while to come out they offered us a complementary appetizer. Now onto the things that weren’t so great: most of the food. Coming from New York and after spending a whole weekend eating in Austin, I think there’s just too much competition of good food to be charging this much for food that is honestly mostly mediocre. The theme of the meal was incredibly rich sauces which smothered what could be really delicious dishes. My husband ordered the quail risotto, and reported the quail was delicious. However, the risotto was so richly flavored that he left more than half of it on his plate. I ordered what was the most popular pasta dish: the bucatini, and had a similar experience. (Mind you, this was after watching the woman next to me send back her bucatini dish because she did not like the flavor). I am a HUGE pasta lover and could tell that the homemade pasta was high quality. However, that got completely lost in what was on top of it. The flavor was too intensely rich, and the chili oil smothered what was underneath. I feel the advice of less is more would have helped the dish immensely…I also left a good portion of it on my plate. To end our meal, I tried the dessert to see if it would redeem the meal, and was able to take exactly 2 bites of the butter cake before giving up for the night. As I said, there are definite bones of a good restaurant here. You can tell this is a restaurant that cares about producing what they believe is good food. However, as an avid pasta lover, I was confused and hungry when I left. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $70–80

Intero Restaurant was delicious! It appears to be a one-room restaurant as you walk in but it’s bigger than it looks with a covered patio and second room. The food and drinks are great! Risotto is my go to, always and the rich flavors here exceeded expectations. The desserts are also wonderful. I loved the panna cotta. Thanks Intero!!!
