Great customer service, awesome view of the river, definitely make a reservation after for after 7!
Everything was perfect. 9/10. Breads, expertly baked on the premises, were out of this world. Gambas was sweet; the garlic-olive oli in which prawns were coated was almost like sauce américaine with its rich crustacean flavour. The liquid was soaked up by the nut bread to the last drop. ???? The pan-fried corvina, cooked to perfection with crackling skin and sea salt, sat on a thick fish broth reinforced by squid ink underneath. I was tempted to lick the plate. I chose port wine Chantilly cream to finish off, with a glass of 20-year old tawny from an obscure small producer. This too was a winner.
Our last night and dinner in Portugal, we spent it at Intrigo with an amazing river view and couldn't have been happier. We made a 630pm reservation in advance and had our pick of tables when we showed up on a Monday evening. We had to go outside for that view and as backup they offer you blankets if it gets too cool for you. Service was warm and friendly all evening and we had no issues getting by using English. They bake a different bread fresh every day and this evening it was a jalapeño type that brought some heat. Yum. My wife ordered their grilled nut crusted grouper with carrot purée and greens. She loved it all. I went with the rump steak that came with beets and soft sheep cheese. The meat was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I don't typically eat or enjoy beets but these were nice. The sheep cheese was fine but not one of my favorite cheeses. To finish things out, we each ordered a dessert. My wife got a brownie with hazelnut ice cream while I got a banana crumb with peanut ice cream. Both were amazing but I think the peanut ice cream was extra special and shouldn't be missed.
