We stopped by this food stall located in a small square next to a temple, where several stalls are gathered together. We picked this one at random, and it turned out to be a pleasant and comforting surprise. The stall offers a variety of light Japanese dishes, including udon, gyudon, curry rice, sweet soups, and other simple comfort foods. Prices were reasonable, making it an easy choice for a casual stop. We ordered the sweet red bean soup with mochi. The soup was served warm, perfect for a chilly day, though it was slightly on the sweet side. Thankfully, the mochi was soft and chewy, and its mild flavor helped balance out the sweetness nicely. A lovely bonus was the owner’s gesture of offering us complimentary carrot and daikon side dishes. They were well-cooked and nicely seasoned, adding a homely touch that made the experience feel more personal and welcoming. The interior of the stall was simple and a bit aged, but that only added to its charm. It created a traditional, family-style atmosphere that felt genuine rather than polished or commercial. Overall, it was a cozy and heartwarming stop, ideal for a quick snack or light meal while exploring the area.
