I had high hopes after reading the reviews and seeing the vibe after entering, but my order of hamachi sashimi was bland and water logged. I ordered one of each type of nigiri from the specials board and ALL were bathed in a citrus ponzu / yuzu sauce. That was a first for me. Followed up with a spicy scallop roll and soft shell crab roll. All were bland and prepared generically. The quality of fish is average at best and highly sauced. I recently discovered Irassae in Huntington Beach, and it's a game-changer for sushi lovers! This little spot might be easy to miss, but the sushi is unforgettable. We started with the Scallop and Tuna Specials, which were so flavorful they didn't even need soy sauce. The green mussel was a delight, and the "Vincent Handroll" was an absolute favorite. Don't miss out on the Ghost Roll – it's a flavor explosion! The staff is friendly, the ambiance cozy, and every dish we tried was a hit. If you're craving authentic, delicious sushi, Irassae is the place to go. Can't wait to return and try more off-the-menu specials!
