This restaurant is a nice choice if you are in the mood for the Costa Rican cuisine. Many guests of Irazu note that good kacamak, flank steaks and grilled chicken are offered here. Taste tasty tostones, flans and doughnuts. It might be good to try delicious wine, beer or rum. You will enjoy great milkshakes, americano or horchata at this place.

This place has been on my list to try for awhile now. It is awesome and exceeded my expectations. Everything we had was amazing. The staff was great and super nice. They also now have their liquor license I will definitely be back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

4/5/24... Went to Chicago for a quick getaway with friends and was taken to this place. What a find it was. The food Was amazing, the greeting was absolutely wonderful. No hesitation to wait for a table, tables and chairs brought out to accommodate us immediately. The food suggestions were amazing. Wait staff was on it... cozy and inviting. We loved the stories told to us! We look Forward to going back just for the food and experience. To the nice man who greeted us upon arrival, you are one heck of a host! Thank you!

Irazú Costa Rican Restaurant & Catering 1865 N Milwaukee Ave Chicago, IL 60647 October 27, 2022 Thursday - 11:40 AM for lunch 1 Adult Atmosphere - 5 stars Food - 5 stars Service - 5 stars Background - I finally have some time on this business trip to venture out and try a Diner, Drive-In, and Dives restaurant. Atmosphere - A quick journey to Costa Rica when you walk through the door. That is I love going to unique, family owned restaurants. I love that when you walk in there is a map with the location indicating where they are from Costa Rica. Vibrant colors fill the place. Food Drink - I had the El Puerto, it said their counties version of an Arnold Palmer. Surprise Surprise it is a frozen drink. It was amazing. I want some rum with it, stat!! Appetizer - Free chips and salsa, a green salsa that had a little zip. I added some of that salsa to some of the meat that escaped from my sandwich. Lunch - Of course I went with something that Guy featured on Triple D, the Pepitos. I was not disappointed with that sandwich. It was amazing. You can pick your protein, I went with the steak. The sandwich is rib eye steak, sauteed onions, cheese, beans and Lizano sauce. My mouth is craving it now. Those beans and Lizano sauce must be the secret to this amazing sandwich. You do not notice them but there is something special with this sandwich. Service - One guy was working the front of the house. I was the first customer today so he was able to take care of my needs. By the time left the restaurant was half full. Future - I wish I lived closer to this place, so yes.
