Irregardless is a Raleigh staple and a place I will continue to bring my friends and family too endlessly. But, I will say - the service at the hostess stand needs to be addressed immediately within the staff before it makes loyal customers go elsewhere. I get it, this place gets BUSY! the day can feel overwhelming. But, you know what you sign up for when you work for Irregardless- busy days ahead. We came by this Sunday which happened to also be NC State move in week, the hostess were completely overwhelmed and that reflected on how they treated patrons coming in. We had an 11 am reservation, didn’t get sat until about 1120- no worries - but during that 20 minute time we saw endless interactions between the hostess and patrons that were bluntly rude and dismissive on the hostess end. I’m a big advocate for those in the service industry as I’ve been there too, but this attitude doesn’t make the business slow down anymore, and leaves a sour taste in your mouth before you get seated. Incredibly inconsistent food. Been here 3 times over the course of 2-3 years and each time they dropped the ball somehow. This cannot be a coincidence. First time food was great but servers weren’t basically trained, handing a knife to my husband holding the BLADE. How unsanitary. Watched them deliver my glass of sparkling wine by the top of the glass where my mouth would’ve went but I returned it because I refused to drink out of it. Watched the same waitress clearing a nearby table collecting dirty glasses by the top of the glasses where people’s mouths went, and then delivered my glass the same way. Yuck!!! Didn’t go back for a year or two. Decided to give it another shot a month or two ago. Food took forever and they apparently either lost the ticket in the kitchen, or our food was delivered to another table. Owner comped the food that took forever, which were appetizers. Food was excellent. Went again last night and got the exact same things and they all tasted like shit due to a different chef on Sundays. Sorry that’s not an excuse- plenty of restaurants have different chefs different night La and consistency remains. Doubt we will be back. Each time we give them another try, they drop the ball somehow. Fool me once….. Also, the small strip of salmon you get as an entree is a JOKE for what you’re paying. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
