I'd seen this stall at the food market at Cardinal Place a few times previously but today was the first time I'd had the chance to try it. Thankfully they had the traditional sign of a decent bit of street food - a large queue. Wisdom of crowds and all that. It was well organised - you queue on one side, order the wrap and pay (I opted for the lamb and paid an extra pound for halloumi as well). Then you get given a little ticket and enter the next queue for collection. In that time, the pizza/wrap is moved over to the right side and heated up on a large hot plate. Quite how the chap keeps track of which order is which I'll never know, but it's an impressive system. Toppings are pretty much the norm if you've ever had a Turkish kebab of any type, but the one thing I really liked was that they chopped the cucumber and tomato up and mixed them together - so it was like you got a Greek salad of sorts added to the wrap. So mine came to £7 including the halloumi, which for street food isn't a bad deal. It's big but I found that it wasn't that filling - although that could have been my subconscious demanding that I go and get a second one because it was really delicious. The bread/base was light and airy, the salad was crisp and gave a good variety of texture next to the cheese. Really, really good and very much reminded me of my time in Istanbul last year - it certain compares quite admirably with the good food I ate out there.
