This was my first trip to J. Alexander's, but it will not be my last. I ordered the red beans and rice as the soup of the day and was pleasantly surprised by the portion I received. I was expecting a small cup and received a sizable bowl. It was perfectly cooked and excellently seasoned. It had just th right amount of kick and the flavors blended perfectly. I had the Cypress Salad as my entree with grilled chicken. The salad greens were crisp. The chicken was flawless, as were the condiments. This meal paired very well with Yuzu Mule I ordered. I highly recommend that drink if you'd like a refreshing take on the traditional Moscow Mule. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, dinner with friends or in my case, a travel meal while on a business trip.
