Nestled in serene grounds near Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, this bustling joint is the brainchild of a Madrilenian chef. The small menu is heavy on Spanish classics, encompassing the essence of the cuisine and the chef’s experience spanning over two decades. Try oreja a la plancha, and fideuà with foie gras... Jarana Taipei is one of those rare places you don’t just visit, you keep coming back to. I'm lucky enough to come to Taipei once a month for work, and Jarana is a must stop for dinner. The menu strikes a perfect balance between classic Spanish cuisine and a refined modern touch. You’ll find outstanding croquetas, arroz dishes, paella, and fideuà, all executed with precision and respect for tradition. What truly sets it apart are the ever-changing specials. There’s always something to look forward to, whether it’s crispy potatoes with octopus, a tuna bottarga brioche with caviar, or a beautifully elevated ensaladilla with shrimp. Even deeper, comforting dishes like carrilleras or revuelto de espárragos con foie show the kitchen’s depth and creativity. Chef Dani and his team never disappoint. The service is consistently warm and professional, and you can feel the passion behind every single dish. A must-try in Taipei when you want a break from the amazing local cuisine, and a place you’ll always want to return to. I know my colleagues and I can't wait to be back every month.
