Huge menu! Food was good, and the service was short and inattentive. Floors definitely needed attention, sticky, and in dire need of cleaning. No doubt, due to short staffing. Prices are affordable. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Cheeseburger

Best Diner on the Jersey Shore: JB's Diner on Route 33 My wife recently suggested that we try the new diner at the intersection of routes 33 and 34 in Farmingdale NJ at the Jersey Shore for her birthday dinner with our family. What a wonderful experience! Everyone loved it. I give it my highest rating. It is set in a 1950s-atmosphere complete with decor, music, juke box, gas pumps, classic car photos etc. The waiters and waitresses are extremely friendly and nicely dressed to reflect the wonderful 1950s which was captured in so many beautiful movies. They are located right at the intersection of a major east west highway, route 33 and a major north south highway, route 34 which many use as an alternate access to the Jersey shore. This is where the old Apollo Diner stood for many years but this is a complete makeover that has to be the most beautiful diner that I ever saw. They have a classic car theme that runs throughout everything including the menu which features a '56 Ford that includes a Belgian waffle with two eggs and a choice of breakfast meats as well as grits or home fries, coffee or tea and a small juice. WOW! This competes against the '63 Impala SS that starts with eggs Benedict, home fries or grits with coffee or tea and a small juice. My favorite was the '58 Edsel which was French toast, two eggs, breakfast meats with coffee or tea and a small juice. An absolute classic! For breakfast, lunch or dinner the food is out of this world with huge portions and very reasonable prices. They are served on plates and arraigned in a special way that make them a true work of art and in synch with the action of the 1950s. The cleanliness of JB's Diner on Route 33 is spotless. I am a former Assistant Commissioner of Health for the State of New Jersey and President of the New Jersey Public Health Association and from a food safety and public health point of view I give them an A++! I observed how the food was prepared, served and cleaned up afterwards. I couldn't be more pleased. I have a classic car a red 1954 MGTF "named Winston" a convertible similar to the MG that Ryan O'Neal and Ali MacGraw used in the 1970 movie "Love Story." I deliberately took some pictures in front of the Diner because I thought it fit so well with the classic car theme. They actually have a Classic Car Night from 5 PM to 8 PM that attracts classic car clubs, antique cars and people who love them. I highly recommend that you take that drive back in time to JB's Diner on Route 33 for that unforgettable experience and an excellent meal for all. Enjoy! Dr. Jim
