Went to Jttrd for their grand opening. Their space is towards the back of the hall but easy to find. The employees were polite and seemed nice....but they didnt seem that they were trained well. I asked what the name meant and they didn't know. I asked if they had samples to try the different colored juices and they said that they didnt have cups to give samples in...oh well. So we went in blind. I tried the 'red color' juice which was supposed to be raspberry and pineapple. I tasted raspberry, but didn't taste pineapple. It is $6 for 12oz of juice, but that is not actually correct. They put ice into your cup so there is 30% less juice for sure....and it wasn't the best tasting juice. Not for you if you are looking for something sweet. We also got an art smoothie for $12. We watched as the drink was made for you, which is cool, but half the drink is premade. They premake the cup with basil seeds instead of Chia seeds (we couldn't taste the difference), the yogurt and fruit on the sides of the cup. The part that is done to order is pouring in the juice in and decorating the top. It tasted ok, but definitely more 'ig worthy', than anything else. I think there is room for improvement here. Spending $18 on two juice smoothies that didn't taste exceptional is a problem. Hopefully, they will improve on their concept, menu, and flavors.

This smoothie cafe is located in the new Waikiki Food Hall at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. One of 8 tenants, JTRRD serves up the most instagram-able smoothies. I had a feeling these beauties would be only skin deep, but I'm so glad I was wrong. We tried the yellow art smoothie and a green juice smoothie and both were very tasty. For the art smoothie, you just pick a juice color and leave the rest to JTRRD in turning it into a work of art. At $12, I'm not sure if we will return but we are glad to have tried it.

Got the smoothie art for $12. A bit pricey and small portioned, but pretty for pictures. The smoothies are pre-made, so the drink was more room temperature than cold and refreshing if it was made fresh. I think I would not have minded the price if the smoothie was made fresh. My favorite part was the chia pudding and yogurt at the bottom.
