Arrived at Chico this morning super early and Jack's Family Restaurant was one of the very few places opennat 6 am. Upon arrival I was greeted by some regulars of the place, which if you're looking for a place to go, where the locals are is a good sign. I was greeted warmly and told to sit anywhere I liked. After looking at their menu (everything was priced very reasonably) I decided to go with their make your own combo. I ordered biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, hash browns and ham scrambled and coffee. The biscui lt and gravy was excellent. The biscuit was nice and soft and fluffy. Not burnt at all like other places and the gravy was smooth and seasoned very well. The chicken fried steak had the same gravy but the big difference was the seasoning on the chicken fried steak. Omg, it was amazing! One of the best flavors of chicken fried steak I've had in a long time. The has browns were as expected, not overcooked, not undercooked. Just done very well. The ham scrambled again, was literally hands down the biggest surprise I had. You could taste the egg and the ham flavors separately and they messed so very well. The eggs were nice and soft, not undercooked or overcooked. Usually diner coffee is overheated, stale, bad ir a combination of all these things. However this coffee was nice and smooth, not weak or strong, just right. I did not need any creamer or sugar to mask the flavor at all. Overall this has been the best dinee experience and food that I've had in a long time. Definitely coming back for more from this place if I'm ever in the area. August 27th 2022 11:00 a.m. sat down for lunch with my girlfriend observed in roach crawling across the floor decided to stay while eating breakfast lunch observed another roach underneath the table across from us very unfortunate
