Wow what a view while sitting outside. Dog friendly and even brought a little water dish and a biscuit for Henry. The food was very delicious. We shared the crab cakes and fish n chips. Plenty to share. Highly recommend eating here. If you're in Arcata.

A few years ago, when Jack's Seafood was fairly new, I went there for a lunch with my grandma, mother, and sister. I'm a big fan of salads, and of Shrimp Louie Salad in particular. I was excited to see it on the menu. I was brought a fairly large salad in a big white bowl. The presentation was great, the flavor was great, and it was overall a good portion. Some of the things I enjoy most about Jack's are the view of the boats on the water, and it's proximity to some other really awesome spots in old town Eureka. On my most recent visit to Jack's, I ordered the Crab Louie Salad, but this time, it came on a very small plate and was at least half the size that it was the last time I had ordered it. There was very little shrimp on it. It looked like they just threw a small bit of shrimp onto a side salad. I was very disappointed with the size, even though it tasted fine. $16 is pretty steep for what is essentially a side salad with a handful of shrimp on it. I will say that the restaurant was very clean, we were seated right away, and our servers were kind and efficient. I just don't plan on returning because I've done a lot of dining out here in Humboldt, and there are plenty of restaurants here that will serve you a large and colorful salad when you shell out $16 for it. I've never seen one this small and plain for that price tag. If a good salad is what you're after, save your money and spend it at one of the many local Breweries. The salads are definitely worth the $16 price tag there!
