I moved away from California in 2019 and the only thing I've missed, aside from some amazing friends, is Jalapeños. I took a road trip from CO to CA a month ago and couldn't wait until I got to Tustin to stock up on burritos, chips and salsa. I froze the salsa in individual servings, and froze the chorizo burritos as well, so I could enjoy them over time. Sealed up the huge bag of chips. They didn't last long enough! The tacos were as delicious as I remember, beautifully crispy and simple. The chorizo burritos had the perfect balance of eggs, chorizo and beans. The chips and salsa... forget about it. I see some reviews saying it's gone downhill, but after a 5 year hiatus, everything I tasted was even better than I remember. Sadly, I just ran out of the chips yesterday (been dipping into my stash daily, air frying them to re-crisp them) and am back to longing for the best chips ever made. I attempted to duplicate their mild salsa and did a decent job, but would be eternally grateful for the recipe for their hot salsa. Until I figure that out, I'll be pining away in anticipation of my next visit.

I stopped to have dinner at Jalapenos Mexican Food 450 E. 1st Street in Tustin. After I stopped shopping at the store, I was very  hungry so I stopped at this location. It was another sunny and beautiful hot day Spring and I was starving! The cashier was nice and friendly. You order and pay at the front counter, then they bring your meal to the table. For my appetizer: Chips, Cheese and Quac; The portion was larger then I thought so I ate part of it. fresh, hot and delish! My Entrée: Fish Taco Platter; Two grilled fish tacos with; sides of Spanish rice and refried beans. I drank iced tea with my meal. delicious! For dessert; Flan; A fresh slice of homemade flan. Ohh so good! Then I walked outside took a photo and drove off to find my next review. Robert H.
