At this place you can find the Korean cuisine. Many people come to try perfectly cooked prawns, grilled eel and grilled beef. You will be offered delicious tea.

A cozy place with a beautiful interior is all you need for a holiday with your family. The staff is competent that's what makes this restaurant so nice. Visitors say that the service is enjoyable here. Democratic prices are what you will pay for your meal. But on Facebook, Jami hasn't achieved a high rating.

Waited about 20mins for a table for three, then staff gave the table to a Korean family who came in after us. I told the staff that we came first and the Korean family didn’t argue about that. But the staff still gave the table to them and told us that they came first. Really disappointed!!!

Only two staff overseeing a full house on a Friday night. Not to mention that both girls were both clearing up the tables and taking orders at the same time. We had to cancel our latter order as we waited for over 30min for only one dish. Feel sorry for the waitresses but the owner really needs some thoughts on showing some decent service to customers who paid for both food and service.

Jami is one of the restaurants in the Auckland Collection ‘must try Korean eateries’, located in Wairau Valley where Korean food is certainly not scarce. Jami has a family owned feel to it and the food is cooked with love.

Between two people with massive big appetites, we got the set menu charcoal grilled pork belly and the charcoal grilled eel. While both dishes were delicious, I prefer the pork belly because of the taste (sweet and the charcoal flavour were welcomed by me). They provided soup and purple rice as well, which you can jazz up with some pork belly. The side dishes were kimchi, potatoes, japchae, an apple and pickled cucumber with konjac noodle salad, salad with an orange peel dressing and green sweet and vinegary seaweed. Out of those, I enjoyed the salad the most since the orange dressing went really well with the plain salad.

We were still hungry after all that so we got another medium charcoal pork belly dish since we enjoyed it. That being said, perhaps portion isn’t the best but then again, we may just be massive eaters.
