Went there randomly on a spring break trip with the kids after seeing it on Google Maps. Almost left because the parking lot is a gravel driveway and we ended up coming in from the back side so it almost looked like someone’s house. Found the front and went in and really enjoyed it. Not really sure if the guy who came to talk to us several times was the chef or manager or what but he brought free brownies for the kids (wife and I might have snuck a small sample, haha). Would recommend. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

What an amazing experience at J&S Smokehouse! Stopped here for lunch while passing through to Corpus Christi. What a great choice it turned out to be! Our waitress, Ica was very attentive and helpful to us newcomers. She explained the menu and checked in on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed.The brisket plate was prepared perfectly. The meat was so tender and had just the right amount of smoke flavor. The cole slaw was absolutely the best! BBQ sauces are home made, their spicy option could use a little more zing but still very tasty.Don't forget to grab a piece of apple pie before you walk out the door. The pie crust was prepared perfectly.We won't be back for another year but already looking forward to our next stop here for lunch!
