Coffee was a bit too milky, but the bagel sandwich was great. We got the surf girl sandwich. Be prepared for long waits! Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $20–30

The Coffee is delicious, when made with Aloha . First off , I never leave bad reviews about a business. However today I just felt I needed to let the owners know what they have greeting your customers first thing in the morning. I was always taught before I opened my business , that we are usually the first person our customers see in the mornings, we are more than likely your first cup of coffee also. The Baristas usually set the tone for the customers day. Today started out great , we arrived at Java Kai 5 minutes before they opened. I helped the nice new girl put the umbrellas in the stands outside , she went in and unlocked the doors , we entered , this is where the bad vibes started . The strawberry colored hair girl who is making the drinks yells at us ! HEY WE AREN’T OPEN YET ! Ok cool , but why yell it ? We turned around and waited outside for 5 minutes. When we entered at 6: AM she rolls her eyes , like we did something wrong ?? We ordered our drinks with the sweet cashier girl, and wait again ! This time for 17 minutes, for 2 lattes……. 17 minutes for 2 lattes , the barista says that she isn’t even close to being ready to make drinks just yet . You opened at 6: AM I had my drink at 6:21. Then she mumbled our order , I didn’t hear my name as I was standing just off from the counter waiting . On our walk back , we find that they made our drinks wrong . Because of the attitude, I couldn’t go back and will now have to find a new place for my morning coffee’s. This is NOT an attack on Java Kai as a business, the coffee is great , this is letting the owner or owners know , who is working for them . Unfortunately we won’t be back . Food: 5 Service: 1 Order type: Takeaway Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $10–20

The Rainbow Bourbon (a light roast coffee) was outstanding! This is one of the few places offering a light roast coffee. I highly recommend Java Kai Kapaa! The Lilikoi Haze smoothy was also delicious. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Takeaway Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $1–10
