Jenny's Asian Fusion at the Souyhwest DC wayerfront. Yes! They are still open for the next couple of months during reconstruction of the waterfront. They will be moving down the street to between 6th and 9th streets when the developer steps in.
This was a pleasant find for my wife and me. We were looking forward to Philips Flagship (closed due to redevelopment of the waterfront) and were surprised to find Jenny's still open.
The food was excellent. Dumplings and calamari for appetizers. Dumplings were as good as home made.
Miso soup and wonton soup - fresh and delicious unlike the chicken bouillon soup in many restaurants.
Crab stuffed jumbo shrimp with real lump crab meat and a sauce unlike any we've tasted - excellent.
Seafood Bird Nest - perfectly cooked lobster tail, jumbo shrimp, large scallops (sweet and succulent as scallops shoild be) and squid in a light sauce tossed with fresh carrots, celery, broccoli with mushrooms and water chestnuts. All of that in a crispy 'bird's nest' made of egg roll wrappers.
Go and try them! I don't think you'll be disappointed. parking in the garage across the street is cheap. Walk down to the wharf after dinner and pick up some fresh seafood, vegetables or fruit for the next day.
And continue to support them after they are forced to move by the redevelopment. We will when we're in town.
