We were there on Friday afternoon at tea time. Our goal was a spatially small, but nevertheless very efficient café, namely exactly this Jimmy's Altstadt Café". It makes sense for my buddy to ask for reservations for our six seats, because the house is well frequented - and there is a reason! As requested, we were given a table inside and there was a lot of coming and going. The owner drove the "plate taxi" all by himself, and he probably had help in the kitchen. Being a solo fighter there was a bit of a wait which is why I wanted to give only four stars for service at first - but that would have been unfair. Tea, cappuccino and delicious cakes arrived in a reasonable amount of time and definitely made up for the wait! Delicious hot apple strudel, honey cake (Holy spice cake), plum cake with cream - one poem after the other and the tea as you would expect it in Bünting-City: perfect on the warmer, with Kluntje and cream. In terms of price, everything is within a very moderate range. When the hustle and bustle had calmed down a bit, the landlord willingly provided information about the restaurant, the city as a film set (ZDF, "Friesland") and chatted very interestingly and entertainingly about his eventful life. Anyone who is in Leer and doesn't visit "Jimmy's Altstadt Café" will regret it! We are all happy, VERY happy, to come back here! If Leer is worth a trip in itself, then even more so with a visit to "Jimmy"! Parking: Parking space, also for buses and mobile homes, can be found around the pedestrian zone in the immediate vicinity. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant itself is also easy to enter with a wheelchair, walker or walking frame.
