Our first night in Athens and this place was recommended by the hotel desk. It was a short walk and we were a group of 19. The place was fantastic. Food was outstanding, atmosphere wonderful, restaurant very inviting, decor terrific. A relaxing, accommodating vibe. The staff could not have been more pleasant and accommodating any request as well as having an interest in your experience and how you were enjoying the food. Dimitrios and his serving assistant were truly outstanding. Absolutely woukd return and recommended. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €50+ Vegetarian options: They have vegan choices if desired. Parking space: Not sure

Straight into my top 10 places I've eaten, ever! Absolutely delicious food, simply cooked and presented with excellent service and a relaxing early evening ambience. Highly recommended. I had: T-bone steak with country potatoes. The steak was spot on medium rare with a deceptively light meat. I actually managed to eat the whole thing and even pulled the last meat off the bone with my teeth. A large chunk of cooked fat was left on and tasted gorgeous, melting in my mouth and complimenting the steak. Country potatoes turned out to be thick chips with skins on. They tasted like the very best roast potatoes you only get when they've been at least triple cooked in duck fat. Glorious. We ordered a simple Greek salad to fill out the sides and this came just before the main course and was as fresh and tasty as Greek salads in Greece always are. Johanna had 400g beef paties with the same country potatoes. The beef was tasty, well seasoned, succulent and perfectly cooked. I'd already asked the waiter about the cheesecake for afters and due to the main being so delicious yet light, I had a little room left so ordered one cherry cheesecake to share. Just before that came the waiter randomly gave us a small portion of chorizo and caramel sauce. That nearly finished us off and then the cheesecake arrived. Wow. Easily top 5 cheesecake I've ever had. Big simple dollop of black cherry on top of a lightly whipped cheesecake topping on a base of just crumbly enough and sweet enough biscuit base. After finishing that I was fit to burst but would of happily struggled to eat that desert again. I didn't. Liquor to finish, Joh had mine, and the bill. A very reasonable €110 including the tip. Next time you're in or passing through Athens seek out Jonah's, well worth the effort.
