This is our regular Chinese takeaway in Ivybridge - been using it quite happily for many years. Nothing outstanding but good honest food and above average service and value. Tonight we entertained a neighbour who has previously only bought from Golden Bridge. For interest I checked JK reviews and was astonished to see so many poisonous (and frankly libelous) entries from customers who "usually go to the Golden Bridge " but for some reason "wanted a Chinese on the night they were closed" and decided to trash JK. My neighbour now actually says he prefers JK but that's not the point - don't expect fine dining but don't believe blatant misinformation! First time visiting Joy King (I usually go Golden Bridge down the road which is excellent! But unfortunately it was closed being a Tuesday) Safe to say I won’t be buying food from Joy King again! The food was cold and tasteless, like it had been headed up from the weekends leftovers. Really disappointed, when you pay for food you expect it to at least be fresh and hot.
