Extremely dissapointed in Kalgoorlie Hotel/Judds tonight. I've been working out of Kalgoorlie for over a year now and frequented this place as often as once a week for dinner always ordering the salmon or Thai beef salad. I always ordered it because it was consistently good. Unfortunately on this occasion the salmon was not good. The plate came out and the fish looked significantly smaller than it normally did and the salad on the side was quite pathethic looking. A few limp leaves of lettuce and some garnish bits. Everyone at our table had a laugh at the state of the plate, this is how badly the meal was presented. Having ordered this on many occasions I felt it was within my rights to question it. The waitress was sympathetic enough and said she'd speak to the kitchen. I thought perhaps they'd changed suppliers or maybe it had just been overcooked or something. Others at the table who were regular customers had also previously ordered the salmon and said this one was below standard. I really wished I'd taken a picture now. The waitress came back apologetically saying that the fish was frozen and preweighed same as it always was..... I still challenged that perhaps it had been overcooked then or something else but she could do no more for me. I asked to speak to the manager. BIG mistake. An angry looking man came stomping out from the kitchen acting defensively from the get go. Zero apology, zero care factor, zero customer service skills or etiquette shown whatsoever. We had a disagreement sir some minutes and he said "what do you want me to do?" in a rude tone. I said I want a refund. Money was put in front of me with no apology, just smugness. Had he have offered any solutions; perhaps another meal or even a drink or 2... Heck even an apology would have went a long way! Had this been done I could have easily overlooked the ordeal and carried on with the night. With his attitude I didn't want to spend another dollar in that place, we all felt unwelcome and left shortly after.

I was later informed this was the owner. Just a tip: hire someone else to deal with customers because you sir have not got a clue! Very surprising this would happen in a small town which I'd have thought would rely heavily upon word of mouth and repeat business. I can tell you we were a table of 5, 5 regular customers who will now dine at Paddy's and the Balcony where at least we know we will receive courteous service.

Shocking service. Ordered a steak medium-rare got well done. Asked for a refund ($40) had to get into a 15/20min discussion with the owner just to get my money back. Unbelievable! They only gave my money back on the proviso I don't every order a steak from them again. I won't be going there for anything again. In addition the Manager of the pub tried saying this is our version of Medium-Rare, so there will be no refund... Shocking.

Have been here twice in the past 3 weeks and loved it! Food simple but really good pub food, generous serving size and good service.

Will definitely be going back!
