We visited for the first time this weekend, and it was an experience we won't soon forget. The building itself is unassuming and nostalgic, but that's where the ordinary ends and the extraordinary begins. We fully embraced the menu—from the truly unique cocktails and homemade sourdough bread appetizer to the incredible entrées and decadent desserts (and yes, we ordered more than one dessert... no judgment, please). My entrée was listed on the menu as "Half Chicken Milanese. Beurre Blanc. Kohlrabi. Tarragon." When the server asked what I'd like, I simply said, "I'll have the chicken." That turned out to be the understatement of the year. What arrived was so much more than just chicken. It was somehow both familiar and completely unexpected—comfort food elevated to a level I've never experienced before. Every bite made me slow down, smile, and just appreciate the moment. Whenever I discover something truly exceptional, I tell my friends and coworkers that "It's damn delicious and it will change your life." Judith, in Sewanee, is that good and they truly earned that compliment. So before you put down your phone, make the call and reserve your table now. And order the chicken ;-) Price per person: $100+

Hands down the best dining I’ve experienced locally. Exceptional, extraordinary service, fun and trendy atmosphere, but not overwrought. Pricing is fair, and would be significantly higher for the same thing in a big city. A fine dining experience without feeling out of place as a normal person. Get the oysters. Out of this world. I really have no complaints in terms of food quality, I would have preferred a simpler approach to plating and a crisper pie crust, but that’s more personal preference than anything else. Honestly with how good that cream pie was, it didn’t need a crust at all. I would have loved it in a cup as a pudding. It might have helped that I wasn’t picking up the check, but my date was similarly pleased! Price per person: $60–70 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Not sure

An amazing experience. Food was great and unique, service was excellent and fun, and atmosphere was really nice. An absolute surprise and pleasure to find this in the middle of a random college town. Claire was awesome and funny, putting the cherry on top of the dinner. I'll be back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
