We stop at Averys any time we are driving through this part of the country. The crab cakes are fantastic and anything on the appetizer menu is strong. The crab is cooked perfectly. Nice staff. Stop here Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Avery's Maryland Grille is an excellent option to sample that for which Maryland is most famous- crabs! They offer an endless crab eating option which is FANTASTIC if you have it in you to pick a bunch of crabs, risk crab cuts, and FEAST. I've done it before and it's a truly decadent experience, but this time we opted for delicious snow crab legs at a VERY good market price. My dining companion had Zach's Pirate Platter and we were amazed at the quantity of food that is served! Everything is tasty, the service is quite good, as I mentioned- the pricing is great value. The only place for improvement is in the atmosphere. Avery's will not take reservations. We arrived on a Friday at 4PM figuring getting a table shouldn't be a problem, and it wasn't.... to sit outside. We were told that to sit inside we would have had to call to get on their waitlist. Maybe mention that on the website? Yes, their website mentions a waitlist, but it wasn't clear that the only option is to sit outside otherwise. It was okay, but I didn't like that sitting inside wasn't even an option. Maybe just take reservations then? It's a flight of stairs to get to a bathroom (or the inside seating). That's a consideration as well for those with mobility impairments. Still, we really enjoy Avery's and will return. I got crabs, crab legs, hard shell crabs and oysters along with spicy corn chowder. My wife got crab legs with clams. Everything was excellent along with the service.. Chelsie our server was awesome!
