After visiting Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association, come for a meal. The menu of French cuisine is recommended to taste at this restaurant. Great meal (get the orange cake — oh my god!), decent service, but uncomfortable chairs. The atmosphere feels like a charming little restaurant in the English countryside I went to. I have no complaints about the food itself, but there was a wedding reception somewhere else in the building and that music filtered in through the whole meal. Thst may not be an issue on weekdays. The music would have been a small thing on its own, but I hated the chairs from the first moment, to the point that I was distracted through the whole meal. The backs are flat and extremely upright — not the least bit ergonomic. The seat padding is worn, or soft, in a way that leaves you sitting on the wooden frame. I hated those chairs to the point that I can’t make this a go-to spot, even though the food truly deserves it. Our server was on the newer side and left little stacks of our used appetizer dishes and utensils at the corner of our table the whole meal. The short ribs and lamb chops were legit. But seriously…get the orange cake (it’s gluten-free!). And allow extra time for parking. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Dinner

I visited Julia's Restaurant last month and was very happy I did. I so appreciated the wonderful food, great ambience, and excellent service. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. I loved the sweet potatoes, too. The crème brûlée was my favorite part of the meal. Well done! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+
