The restaurant's drink and food

See Crabtree Fields by default, the clients' recommendation is to visit this restaurant as well. French cuisine is to visitors' taste here. Take your friends with you to eat good broth, pate and roasted chicken. If hungry, come here for tasty madeleines, crepes and ice cream.

The wine list is diverse, it can satisfy the needs of all clients. The gracious staff reflects the style and character of Elsa. Terrific service is something that guests highlight in their reviews. You will certainly like the nice atmosphere and fancy decor. This place scooped the Bib Gourmand award for good meals at fair prices.

Michelin Guide rating

Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking.

Bright, modish and hugely enjoyable, Elsa is a spot-on bistro driven by the passion of its team. Located on Fitzrovia’s ever-popular Charlotte Street, it’s a lovely neighbourhood restaurant that just so happens to be in the heart of the city. Sit in the narrow front area if you like to be on-view, or the spacious, more peaceful room to the rear... More info

Had a lovely evening. The service was very professional and attentive. For starters, wet had the ox heart with beetroot and horseradish and the salad of raw asparagus, rye and goat cheese. For the main course, we shared a Coq au Riesling with almond rice. For desert, we had the freshly made Madeleines with Lemon Curd and the Straciatella ice cream. The Coq au Riesling was amazingly tender and juicy. The portions were rather generous. We took wine by the glass, and discovered several new wines that went well with the dishes. You need to order the madeleines at the beginning of the meal as they are made fresh. An excellent evening in an affordable but delicious meal. Strongly recommended! Perfect meal. Great setting, incredible food, amazing drinks and superb service. The Lamb Chop is the best dish I’ve had in a long, long time. Probably the best chips in London too. The chefs are absolute wizards! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £40–50

Four of us had a meal in The Elsa last night - from the welcome as we walked in, to the Madeleine’s for dessert, everything was absolutely superb. The snacks were larger than we expected and delicious. Likewise, the sea bass, pork terrine and salad starters were so fresh, so beautiful and so tasty. The mains too were faultless, really enjoyable dishes and the signature chicken dish is off the scale delicious. Vera and the whole team were fantastic. We agreed, it was the best meal out experience we’ve had in ages. Perfect in every respect. Such a good find. Price per person: £90–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
