The sign says, "Japanese Restaurant" but that description under sells all Junz has to offer. Yes, there is a sushi bar and sushi is on the menu but that isn't the totality of this eclectic culinary experience. To the left of the enterance is a bar nook complete with a friendly bartender and a large screen TV showing whatever sport is having its moment. To the right is a dining area spacious enough for family celebrations and still cozy for date nights. The menu is as mosaic of food genres including King Salmon, Beef and Chicken Teriyaki, and Rib-Eye Steak. Our dinners were Lamp Chops. The house soy sauce based salad dressing threads together savory and sweet like silk and sequins. The earthiness that qualified the miso soup as comfort food was slightly over-powered by the saltiness but my companion, for whom salt is a secondary food group, slurped it down with noises of enjoyment. There was no debating that the crab mashed potatoes won the comfort food crown. If it was sold in buckets, I would have had a bucket in each hand. The lamb was cooked to perfection, mine a warm pink in the middle and my companion's well done without compromising the tenderness. The soy dipping sauce complimented the meat like a teenaged boy crushing on his best friend's sister. My only criticism was the vegetables were seasoned with a concentration of salt that they should have come with a warning from the American Heart Association. The server was delightful, attentive, and efficient. I suspect I'll be found at the sushi bar during lunch hour in the coming weeks because I'm definitely going back. Had our 2nd visit to Junz this evening. We absolutely loved it the first time, but we don't go out often. Last time we went, we tried the fusion entrees and were very inpressed. When looking for a great Sushi place for my wife's birthday dinner, Junz was by far the top rated and recommended spot both online and between friends so we returned. Everything was so delicious and fresh tasting. One of the rolls we ordered wasn't available so we asked for a recommendation for a replacement and the chef made us a special sashimi roll that was simply incredible. I didn't remember our server's name, but she told us it was her first night solo and she was very sweet and attentive. We both also really loved the martinis we ordered, which was a perfect sweet beginning before we got into our meal. The portions are very generous and the two of us couldn't get more than halfway through the 4 rolls we ordered and took it back home. We came an hour before close and left right as they were closing, so it was much quieter and the staff didn't make us feel rushed at all, even though we ourselves knew to leave so they could enjoy their evening.
