We visited Kertos for a family dinner and had a bit of a mixed experience overall. We ordered the seafood platter for two, a Cretan salad, and a burger patty for our kid. The burger patty was surprisingly good and flavorful—definitely a hit with our child. The Cretan salad was standard; nothing really set it apart from what you’d get at any other taverna in the area, but it wasn't bad either. The seafood platter for two was rather hit-or-miss. On the positive side, the fried fish and calamari were well-prepared and tasty. However, the octopus didn't taste very fresh, a few of the mussels were questionable, and the platter had way too many potatoes acting as filler. Considering the overall taste and the average service, the bill felt quite steep for what was delivered. Would we return? Possibly, but we would stick to simpler items instead of the platter. One of our favorite lunches in Chania! We came to Kertos on our third day in Chania and absolutely loved it. The location right by the sea is beautiful, especially at sunset, and the whole dinner felt relaxed and very Greek. Everything was fresh and delicious, the Greek salad, sardines and grilled calamari were all excellent. We had local wine while watching the sunset and finished with dessert and raki. Such a simple, beautiful evening by the sea. Definitely a place I would return to next time I’m in Chania. Highly recommend coming around sunset. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €30–35
