A MICHELIN star: cuisine of great finesse. Worth the step!

This creative cuisine reflects the chef’s gastronomic journey. Spanish and French techniques find application in recipes from Okinawa, where the chef was born and raised. A tapa named ‘Ryukyubon’ is one example. This version of a dish from the Ryukyu royal court is arranged on Yachimun pottery and served on a Ryukyu lacquer tray... More info

We visited Koke in April 2026 and enjoyed every minute. Definitely one of the better 1 star restaurants we have tried. Every course showed a lot of creativity and precision and felt very well thought through. Service was attentive, friendly and professional without feeling stiff. The whole experience was rounded off by genuine Japanese hospitality and warmth. Thank you for a great experience. A second Michelin star feels like it is only a matter of time :) Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We came here for my wife’s birthday, and it turned out to be the best restaurant of our entire trip to Japan and possibly the best we’ve ever been to in terms of pure flavor. We had the tasting menu and every single dish was packed with flavor. The Japanese-Spanish fusion concept could easily be a gimmick, but here it truly works. You can feel the chef’s craft and intention behind every plate. Each course was a surprise, and not a single one disappointed. The service was excellent attentive, warm, and perfectly paced for the intimate setting. For context: we also dined at a two-Michelin-star restaurant, and honestly, Koke was better. The one star is absolutely deserved. One piece of advice: go for the small wine pairing. The regular pairing was way too much for us. The small option would have been perfect. We’d honestly come back to Japan just for this meal. That says it all. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
