As a frequent traveler who has explored design and craft across continents, I found KOYO BASE to be a true gem in the ceramics capital of Toki, Gifu. The space itself is airy, modern, and perfectly designed to highlight the artistry of Japanese tableware. Hiro and I enjoyed excellent iced coffees in the café, which provided the perfect break before continuing to nearby cultural stops in Gifu. I also purchased a beautifully made coffee cup with a matching dish for my wife — elegant, understated, and a lasting reminder of the visit. What makes KOYO BASE special is the seamless blend of craftsmanship, hospitality, and modern design. The staff were warm and attentive, and it was clear they take pride in both the ceramics and the guest experience.
