One of the best restaurants on the island, with very good service, excellent appetizers and tasty dishes. We ordered beer and they brought us accompanying nuts of all kinds, tomato, olives and local Niot gruyere. The waitresses are willing to help you choose what to eat, always with a smile and last but not least, reasonable prices. Last night we chose the cafe for our dinner. With the cover they also brought us a plate with olives, graviera, air salami and tomatoes. We got a perfect taramo salad (white tarama), an also amazing fava bean, calamari (fortunately they were not frozen slices!), smoked trout, village salad (7.5€ and not 10€ like in other shops) and saganaki shrimps with fresh tomato. We loved everything! We paid around €23 per person including ouza. List with few options so you don't have to worry about what to eat. One of the best tavernas on the island. My second visit in 4 days. Tried the starter meze platter and a big meat platter amongst other plates as well as many different salads all delicious with the Summer Dalad a particular favourite with our group. Very friendly big smiley service by our wonderful host Maria and special mention to amazing chef Yiannis. Thank you everyone at Kafenes for making our visit on Ios so special with your incredible food and hospitality. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €10–15
