I had a very disappointing experience at Kanki Japanese Restaurant. The service was extremely poor. Our servers were inattentive, slow, and did not seem interested in helping us. We had to wait a long time for basic service, and it made the entire meal frustrating. The cleanliness was also below what I expected. The restaurant did not appear clean enough, which made me uncomfortable while dining. Overall, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. I hope management improves both the customer service and the cleanliness because, based on my visit, I would not recommend this restaurant. Everything was ok until it was not. I have never had to complain about an employee at this establishment . No one has ever been rude, other than a couple times my food wasn't hot I haven't had anything bad to say about this kanki......until today. I completely lost my appetite there today. We sat at a table in the corner. A freaking roach! I saw it didn't make a big deal, told a server , she killed it, the end. Will I be back? Not now, not soon .....maybe never at this location idk. I definitely now I won't be back for now. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $30–40 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1

My first time trying hibachi in the glenwood area of Raleigh. I can say I was highly disappointed. The service was good even though it was a busy evening. I was by myself and wanted to enjoy a good dinner. I believe the chef was inexperienced and didn’t fully give us the teppanyaki experience. The rice and shrimp tasted burnt, I was practically given the scraps off the grill as my neighbor that sat next to me asked what was this about. I ordered the emperors delight and watched him give other people pieces of the filet while trying to give me pieces of rib eye. I said I ordered filet the chef said it is filet but you can tell it wasn’t. Maybe it was a bad night or something. Definitely missed out on a continuing customer. Met an amazing family and that’s the only reason for the 3 star on atmosphere. The waitress was good and attentive. My issue was with the chef.
