I'm disappointed in the price. the sushi combos don't come with anything else besides just the sushi and I think for the price they should come with maybe a small side of fried rice or salad or something. The sushi combo A was a California roll and 10 pieces, some of the fish was chewy and the shrimp was low quality and the fish was cut really small - like cheaply small (as in, trying to save a buck small). My husband had the tonkatsu ramen and he said he has tasted better ramen in College Station which is hard for me to look past since College Station is definitely not known for its food. We ordered to-go New Year's Day, so perhaps the food was heavily influenced by the season and day. The restaurant itself was cute and picture-esque. TLDR; I’d eat here again but the sushi and experience can be improved. The place was decorated very cutely and the service was great. The menu is large and has a large variety of Japanese food from karaage to ramen and donburi. We chose a variety of sushi options. The rolls and the nigiri had very little rice so the ratio was off. The rolls were mostly well made, just missing the rice really. The amount of rice for the nigiri was half or even less of what is normally served with nigiri, and it was missing the little wasabi dot between the fish and rice. We got a combo, and the nigiri was placed randomly all over the plate instead of being presented nicely and the server didn’t tell us what was what. Also we got 14 pieces - we randomly got 3 salmon and 3 ebi, but other nigiri pieces were just one or two. Very random. The fish quality was normal - no complaints but nothing to write home about. We were a little sad we couldn’t have a beer or sake with our meal as they don’t serve alcohol. Also they must have forgotten to turn on the music when we went, it was pretty quiet. This is my second visit to Kansha Japanese Sushi Bistro. Today's meal included the salmon teriyaki bento box - and it did not disappoint! The taste and presentation were spot on, and the friendly staff took care of us. I particularly like one of the side items - the.yellow pickeld radish. yumm!!
