The new management / owners at Karibas, in the Kuilsriver main road opposite Hino, do not have a clue how to grill.... I ate from the grilled fish and it had something sweet basted on it.... I had to threaten legal action because they did not originally want to give me a refund.... The grilled Calamari also had something sweet on it and some batter.... Salt, pepper, garlic and lemon juice had always been the basting for grilled fish at a fisheries....

I even heard a comment from a male voice inside that I should rather stay away....

Knowing that the new owners took over and made changes.. To my surprise I have to say. The shop looks beautiful. Today I bought a family pack. WOW WOW WOW! It was by far the best, freshest most flaky fish I had in a while. My family ate and we licked our fingers. Thank you for keeping up the quality and quantity. I will definitely be back next week to buy dinner.

In my own opinion - there are not very many good places in the Northern Suburbs to find really great, fresh, quality Fisheries. This place is a gem in Kuilsriver - and I'm so glad to have found it. Since 2018 - I haven't supper-ted (supported) another Fisheries in the Northern Suburbs. Having been raised in the Southern Suburbs and along the coast, good fish and chips, calamari and other typical fisheries foods have been part of our weekly menu... Kariba Fisheries in Kuilsriver Main Road definitely ticks all the boxes for great fish and chips. Also very very noteworthy - are the absolutely mouthwatering grilled fish and calamari options, which many other places do not offer! Their grilled hake fillet and their grilled prawns are melt-in-your-mouth-tasty and beats many well known (3/4 star ) restaurants hands down!!The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you receive.Just be sure to call ahead if you can and place a telephonic order to try and reduce the waiting time... Sometimes the lines go out the door to place an order. Really great food... Good smiling service behind the counter.. Will always return to this great place!(from a half-decade customer!)
