This restaurant offers you tasty shrimp salads, grilled prawns and crab cakes. Order good crème brûlée, ice cream and cheesecakes. Trying the delicious cortado is a good choice. Visitors don't like wine at Karma.

The warm atmosphere of this place makes customers feel relaxed and have a nice time. Most guests point out that the staff is appealing. The nice service shows a high level of quality at this spot. From the guests' viewpoint, prices are reasonable. The terrific decor is suitable for the interior of this restaurant. But Karma has been rated below average by Google.

Made the mistake of making a reservation to celebrate my birthday. Let me preface this by saying this review has nothing to do with the minimum as we walked in fully expecting to pay several hundred dollars for what we expected to be a worthwhile experience and incredible dinner. Boy were we wrong! We should have listened when our hotel concierge tried to steer us away from choosing Karma. We were really excited for the ambiance as well as mixology. The single star was for the ambiance which was unique, but also because you can’t actually give zero stars on TripAdvisor. Honestly, every other facet of our experience from start to finish was lacking. Let’s start with the drinks… toted as “mixology”, what we received tasted like (greater than $20) watered down Bahama mamas that you would get on a booze cruise, sans the booze. I am a lightweight and never once got even a remote buzz off of a single drink we ordered. We got a $10 “magic mushroom” upsell on one of our drinks that the server advertised as being actual magic mushrooms consisting of psilocybin. We come to find out all it was actually a shot of rum with cordyceps in it, which he convinced my partner to add to a mezcal drink. All it did was ruin the already horrible drink. Food is overpriced and mediocre at best. Our steak was not cooked correctly and had to be sent back. The salmon sushi which we read in another review was the best sushi that reviewer had ever had was terrible. It was basically a ball of mush with below average flavor and incredibly poor consistency. Brownie that came with dessert tasted like a dried up, month old brownie lacking any flavor. Served with ice cream, you’d think it may come warm? Nope. Also very strange selection of sorbet it is served with. Honestly a 7 year old could have made a better brownie out of a $1 box bought at the grocery store. We spent $400 here for a dinner for 2 people and were so incredibly disappointed we wasted our money, our jaws were on the floor at the entire time. We were and still are flabberghasted they have so many 5 star reviews, leads me to believe some may be fake. You would think they would at least comp a dessert given we were celebrating a birthday but nope, not that either. They did come and sing happy birthday when they brought the dessert over but one of the guys singing said “coochie coochie coochie 24 hours”… which felt highly inappropriate. I don’t ever write negative reviews but our experience was so utterly bad that I felt compelled to save others from making the same mistake we did. Please don’t let the 5 star facade fool you and go to any of the other 1000 restaurants in Tulum that don’t fool you into spending $150 pp by agreeing to do so before you are actually able to sample the quality.
