Very cute couple serving and cooking. Delicious food and chill atmosphere. Edit: I had 2 dinners here. Dinner 1: Fried Squid ala carte, Sakura Fried shrimp rice set. The squid is deliciously seasoned, fresh and the crunchiness is light and fluffy. The Sakura Fried shrimp is fried to the same perfection, splashed with a sauce that trickles to the rice. Each bite is a good pairing of crunch and warm rice. Dinner 2: The squid was good so I decided to try the Kakiage Shrimp and Squid rice set. It was also delicious, fried in the same way. I tried Shiokara ala carte. I like it a lot as it is similar to raw Cincalok back home. You should order this with rice, but i didnt as i was afraid i would be too full to eat my set meal. I don't know the history of Shiokara, but i think it could also be nice with lime, shallots and spicy birds eye chili that cuts through the strong flavor. It's still very nice on its own though. Miso soup has a deep and rich aroma and flavor. The portion is well balanced with the donburi. Smelling the lid of the soup is a great way to whet the appetite and start the meal. I'm happy that Kasuga offers so many unique dishes for my curious palate. The husband and wife are very friendly and accomodating even though we are struggling with a language barrier. She patiently explains each dish and he diligently cooks each dish. There are 3 tables, each table taking 4-6 people and maybe 2 people at the bar. However, 5-6 people might be a squeeze.
