Visited this incredibly cozy cafe during Golden Week, surrounded by greenery. It's run by some Japanese ladies who were so sweet, and gave amazing service. I got the mackerel set, while my partner got the pancakes and French toast. Everything was really delicious, and the portions were great! They have a bookcase full of vintage manga that was really cool to look at, and after we ate, one of the ladies gave us some Japanese snacks, which was the highlight of our day. The menus could maybe use an update since it’s hard to tell what’s in some of the dishes, but it also kind of contributes to the older Japanese vibe, so some might prefer it :). We had a really nice home cooked meal here. The lady owner does all the cooking and serves customers by herself. Price is reasonable. Highly recommend all tourists to try out this authentic Japanese restaurant. If you’re driving, there’s paid parking right next day. Kaya is within walking distance to Tokaikan Museum.
