If you appear to be near Fabric Workshop and Museum, you can visit this restaurant. Have a good time here and share tasty fried chicken, mac-n-cheese and fried chicken wings with your friends. Good waffles, pound cakes and biscuits are among the dishes to be tried at Keven Parker Soul Food Cafe. Tasting the great ice tea is a decent idea.
This place is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. Prices are found democratic here. Come and check if this spot deserves the Facebook 4 stars.

Came here for takeout last weekend and it was DELICIOUS. Very surprised to see their rating on Yelp. Not much of a line (which seems to be the big complaint of most other reviews) so maybe that's why we had such a great experience. We got chicken thigh and leg with mac n cheese and collards. Where to begin...the chicken was just perfect. Oh so crispy with well cooked skin that didn't just slide off the chicken when you bit it. Well seasoned and just great. Didn't need hot sauce or ketchup or anything. Mac N Cheese was great. Not too creamy and still very cheesy. And honestly, I didn't feel ill after eating it which usually happens with Mac n Cheese. Collards were good and my level of spiciness. Not that I can't handle the spice, but I don't like my collards to spicy. Also had crunchy bacon mixed in which was great. Service was quick, people were nice enough. The people in front of us were asking absolutely inane questions and they still were patient with them so I give them credit for that. Price was reasonable and I would definitely recommend you check them out when you're in reading!

This place is AMAZING! Omg those turkey legs are everything! The staff was super nice and explained the options and variety of food ... In addition to the turkey legs , I got Mac and cheese, sweet yams and the sweet tea ! Everything was on point and totally worth the money !!

On my second day visiting Reading Terminal Market, I almost made it a priority to try the chicken and waffles at Keven Parker Soul Food Cafe. However, when I stopped by there, apparently they were out of waffles. That was a bummer. But at least I got to try their famous wings. Keven's Award Winning Southern Fried Chicken Wings -- bit.ly/2vnlFtX Yeah these wings were pretty damn good. Huge pieces and they were crispy and very flavorful. I don't know exactly what award they won for their wings, but they're definitely a winner in my book. I ordered them with their Southern Collard Greens with Smoked Turkey. That was good stuff. I'm used to collard greens with bacon or ham hock, but with Smoked Turkey it gave it a very different flavor that I enjoyed very much and it complimented the wings nicely. Overall, I was happy that I stopped by Keven Parker's Soul Food Cafe. Hopefully next time, if I get the chance to visit, they'll have their chicken and waffles. It's a nice change of pace option when you're at Reading Terminal Market since they're aren't any other fried chicken spots inside.
