The owner, an older lady, of this small Monjayaki / Okonomiyaki restaurant doesn’t seem friendly toward any foreign customers. The reason may be that she doesn’t speak English. It’s a family-run place, and the other staff members have a similar attitude, so it’s best to go with a Japanese-speaking friend. If you have a friend who can help, there’s really no need to go all the way to Tsukishima, which is famous for Monjayaki. If you don’t know how to cook Monjayaki, she will show you, though not in the friendliest way. The atmosphere can vary, sometimes it’s packed, and other times I’ve been the only customer for over an hour. It's a shame because prices are reasonable, and the Monjayaki is really good.
